Reinvented hand-drawn poster of one of the most iconic concerts from the legendary Elton John, an English singer, pianist and composer. His song writing partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin is one of the most successful in history.
This print takes us on a journey, through Elton's eyes via a pair of one of his many bold glasses, we head down yellow brick road, a reference to the iconic song, wearing his iconic platform boots. Centre stage, Elton is doing one one of his legendary piano jumps, halfway to a magical city that is part Oz, part New York, a reference to the location of Madison Square Garden, where the show took place.
The double piano leading to the heavens refers to both Elton's music but also the fact that on that day in 1974, John Lennon joined Elton John at Madison Square Garden for a surprise guest appearance. When Lennon walked onto The Garden’s stage that night, nobody could have imagined that it would be his final performance.
